The table below is a database of books, films and music that you might like to explore. The same works are listed at the back of the book in static form; here, you can interact with the data.
The first column shows the name of each item, and is a link to find it, visit it, or buy it on Amazon. For transparency, I may earn a small commission if you choose to buy something from the Amazon link; this does not affect the price you pay at all.
You can sort the table alphabetically by any column if you click on the Title button.
The second column shows the author(s) of the work. You can filter to see only works by a specific author by clicking on the Author button.
The third column lists tags or keywords so that you can focus on works that consider a particular topic, for example music or noise. Do this by clicking on the Topics button and then typing in the word(s) you want to filter by. This has to be a perfect match for what’s in the Topics column: for example, a search for ‘sound, architecture’ will not bring up books tagged with ‘architecture, sound’. However it will show entries where you’ve searched for one word out of two in the tag.
The fourth column shows my notes on each work so you can decide if you want to explore it further, in which case click the link in column 1.
There are many wonderful works in here. I commend them to you, and hope you find lots of joy, wisdom and, most of all, conscious listening skills as you explore them.
